Research

A tremendous amount of research is required to understand and control non-native invasive species in wildlands.  One needs detailed knowledge of their basic biology – particularly their rates of growth and means of spread – and one needs to know how these species are most effectively controlled.  Many researchers are providing answers to these questions but more information is urgently needed.

John Boland has being working on the growth and spread of Arundo donax in the Tijuana River Valley and has recently had some of his results published.

Layering: A new mode of spread in Arundo donax
